+ Who is it suitable for?

Genius treatment is suitable for most patients who are wanting tighter, firmer skin and/or those wanting to improve scarring.

+ Who cannot get Genius?

• Allergies to topical aesthetics or gold
• Any female who is pregnant or is currently breastfeeding
• Patients who have vascular disease, a history of bleeding disorders, or any daily use of anticoagulants or aspirin
• Active skin conditions or infection in the treatment area such as sores, psoriasis, eczema, and rashes
• Implanted medical devices: Pacemakers, cardioverters, superficial metal with in the treatment area
• Dermal fillers in the treatment area within 2 weeks
• Any patient who has undergone tanning 4 weeks prior to any treatment session
• Any patient who plans to undergo tanning 4 weeks following any treatment session
• Active herpes simplex or shingles, anti-viral medication may need to be taken if you have history or these in the treatment area
• Current skin cancer
• Impaired immune system condition or use of immunosuppressive medication
• Collagen disorders, keloid formation and/or abnormal wound healing.
• Any patient who has used oral isotretinon (Roaccutane) within 6 months prior to treatment
• Any patient who has burned skin, blistered skin, irritated skin, or sensitive skin in any of the areas being treated.
• Any patient who underwent thread lifting of the area to be treated in the last 3 months

+ What does it feel like?

This is an advanced skin treatment, discomfort may be experienced although most patients find it tolerable. We do use a strong numbing cream that will be applied to the treatment area 30 minutes prior.

+ How many treatments are required?

Many people will notice improvements after a single session, however multiple treatments are recommended to encourage optimal collagen production. We recommended initially to start with a course of 4 treatments spaced out at 8-12 weekly intervals. This will encourage long-lasting results. Maintenance treatments may be recommended depending on the skin goals.

+ Are results immediate?

Results may vary, but you should see some changes several weeks after the treatment. As your body rebuilds collagen, gradual improvements occur over the next six months.

+ How long do results last for?

There is ongoing improvement in the skin for up-to 12 months after each treatment depending on the rate each client produces collagen. Maintenance appointments are recommended yearly. Genius - RF Microneedling helps stimulate your own body to produce collagen. Therefore, results can last several years.

+ Is there any down time?

Redness and swelling is common after the procedure and can last several days. Marking from the needle tip can be seen up to 2 weeks post treatment but in most cases these resolve at approx 1 week. Mineral makeup can be worn from 48 hours. Downtime varies between individuals and treatment setting used.

+ What should I do before my appointment?

• Avoid any retinoids, topical antibiotics, exfoliants, hydroquinone and benzoyl peroxide products 7 days prior to treatment
• Consultation prior to ensure treatment suitability
• Arrive 10 minutes early to your appointment to complete forms
• Remove makeup prior, if possible
• Avoid sun exposure for 1 week prior
• Stay well hydrated
• Numbing cream will be applied for 30 mins prior to treatment

+ What is my post treatment care?

• Avoid sun exposure, mineral SPF is advised post treatment
• Avoid makeup for 24-48 hours
• Keep the skin hydrated with a gentle moisturiser
• Avoid active skincare for 7 days
• Avoid exercise for 24-48 hours
• Healite LED sessions can be done every 48 hours post treatment to help assist with healing if needed
